Avoiding the Wrath of God
(Romans 1:18-23)

"Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissentions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you that those who practice such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God'. (Galatians 5:19-21)

God says that those who practice such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God!  In other words, His wrath or judgment will prohibit violators from the Kingdom.  Romans 1:18 says, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.”

In other words, God’s wrath will be poured out on all who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.  This is a significant issue.  He’s talking about those who know what the righteous thing is and still refuses to do the right thing.  So many today are living in known sin.  They are doing things that they know is wrong and these things are actually firing up the heat of God’s wrath.  This is a dangerous place to be!

We must declare war on sin, perversion, immorality and all deeds of the flesh!  God is growing tired of our foolish fleshly lives and His wrath will be poured out on all those who do not fear Him enough to live right!  Romans 1:18 says, “For the wrath of God is revealed.”

Now we hear about the love of God and God is love--infinite, boundless, measureless love, God is love. But this God of love is also a God of wrath and when you love righteousness, you hate sin. We cannot have a God of love without also having a God of wrath. And if you just take the love of God, you only have half of the story.

Verse 18 says, "The wrath of God," God’s burning anger against sin," and the end of verse 20 says,  “ . . . so that they are without excuse.”

There’s one thing that God will not accept for sin and that is an alibi or an excuse.  He will accept a confession and he will forgive, but there is no excuse, man is inexcusable in his sin.

May our eyes be open to our condition and may our hearts be willing to repent by confessing our sin and abandoning our sinful ways!

I wanted to try and figure out a way to have as many people as possible wish my sweet Tammy a happy birthday. After all, it is a big one! She is turning 60 on June 9th. So please respond below as I would love to sit down and read all of your kind words with her. Now, let me share what she means to me. I met Tammy when I was about 11 years old at church. She and her family were regular members. Me and my family were, at best, occasional attendees. At that time, we were just acquainted with each other never realizing what the future held for us.

"The Simple Gospel - Is it so Simple?"

For decades, the message of salvation has been considered the simple gospel. At the conclusion of most evangelical churches, an invitation is given to those who want to receive this simple message by accepting Jesus into their heart. It is presented in simple fashion and those who want eternal life will respond by saying a simple prayer and then being considered a brother or sister in Christ on their way to heaven. But is the gospel so simple as this? When I read the scriptures and look at Jesus as well as the lives of the early believers, I see something a little more complex than simply walking the aisle of a church and saying a simple prayer. Sounding the Trump is Not an Injustice to Trump

As a pastor, I have been very careful not to way in on political candidates choosing rather to speak on the issues from a biblical worldview. However, this fascination with President Trump to the exclusion of biblical principle, morals and ethics is something I have watched and even grown disappointed with. I completely understand the appeal of a man who has worked to protect some of the Christian values we hold dear. While he was not my first choice, I voted for him along with many other evangelicals because of his defense for the rights of the unborn and his stance on religious freedom. President Trump continues to hold the support of about seventy percent of evangelicals who want to make sure that their rights are safeguarded. Therefore, they will hold firm to make sure he is reelected. But what is disturbing and disappointing is the blind eye that so many have when it comes to the President.
